 birth of prophet Muhammad

Genealogy of Prophet Muhammad

( peace and blessing of Allah be upon him)

The ancestral line of the Holy Prophet ( peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) is the noblest and purest of all in the whole world. This is the hard fact that could not be denied by anyone of his enemies and the infidels of Makkah. Abu Sufyan (may Allah be pleaded with him), even in his state of infidelity, acknowledged it before the Roman emperor, although, at that time, he was anxious to find any fault with the Holy Prophet, if any chance permitted him

His pedigree from his paternal side is: Muhammad, son of Abdullah, son of Abdul Muttalib, son of Hashim, son of Abd Munaf, son of Qusayy, son of Kulab, son of Murrah, son of Ka'b, son of Lawie, son of Ghalib, son of Fehr, son of Malik, son of Al-Munfa, son of Kanana, son of Khuzaimah, son of Mudrikah, son of Ilyas, son of Mudar, son of Nazir, son of Ma'd, son of Adnan, Upto this, there exists a consensus among the Ummah about the pedigree, but there is a difference of opinion from here to Prophet Adam( peace be upon him). Therefore, it is being ignored here. And from his maternal side the Holy Prophet's ancestral line is: Muhammad, son of Aminah, daughter of Wahb Abd Manaf, son of Zohrah-bin-Kulab. It indicates that his parents lineage joins with Kulab-bin-Murrah.

 Pre-Birth Blessings of the Prophet

just as the all-pervading light and red glimmer of the dawn fore-tells the rising of the sun before its actual appearance, similarly several events happened around the world insinuating his advent when the rise sun of prophet hood  draw nearer. The scholars of Hadith and the historians call them " Irhasat".
According to the statement of the Holy Prophet's mother, when she conceived him, she was given glad tidings in her dream that the child she had conceived would be the leader of the Umma, and that she should name him Muhammad and offer this supplication.

Birth of the Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him)

This is a unanimously agreed fact that he was born during Rabi-ul-Aewwal (a month of Islamic Calendar)  in the year, when the people of the Elephant  (The King of Yaman had attacked Baitullah )  attacked Baitullah (The House of God), whom the Lord of the universe defeated through the swarms of swallows as briefly mentioned in the Holy Qur'an. In reality this event of the Elephant was also a preamble of the blessings of the Holy Prophet's birth. His place of birth is the house which was later possessed by Muhammad bin Yousaf, the brother of Hajjaj (Seerat Mughaltai : p. 125). Some historian have written that the event of the Elephant happened on 20th April, 517 A .D., which connotes the Prophet Muhammad ( Peace be upon him) was born five Hundred and seventy one years after the birth of prophet Jesus Christ (peace be upon him).
Ibne Asakir, Imam of Hadith ( an authority on Hadith)  had briefly recorded the history  of the whole world like this : ( the Period intervening Prophet Adam and Noah ( Peace be upon him) is one thousand and two hundred years ; the term of period intervening between Noah (peace be upon him) and Abraham ( peace be upon him) is one thousand one hundred and forty two  years; the interval between Abraham ( peace be upon him)  and Moses (peace be upon him) consists of five hundred and sixty-five years ; that between Moses and David, it is five hundred and seventy two years ; that between David (peace be upon him) and Jesus Christ it is one thousand, three hundred and fifty-six years and the gap intervening Jesus and the last Prophet  Muhammad (peace be upon him) is six hundred years. According Messenger of Allah ( peace be upon him) is of five thousand and twenty years.  The well-known  saying is that the prophet Adam ( peace be upon him) lived on this earth for nine  hundred and sixty years, As such the last of the Prophet, the Prophet Muhammad ( peace be upon him) appeared on the global scene in this world approximately after six thousand years i.e. in the seventh thousand years.       ( Tareekh Ibn Asakir  P.19.20 Part -1)
In short, the 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal of the year, in  which the people of the Elephants had attacked, was a unique day in the history of the world, because it was on that day when the very object of this universe the real purpose of the regular rotation day and night, the pride of Adam and his posterity the secret of the protection of the Noah's ark, the supplication of Abraham and the pivot of the prediction of Moses and Jesus i.e. our renowned master, Muhammad the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), graced this world with his benign arriva

HEJJ

Hejj is the preeminent pilgrimage in Islam, to Mecca, mandatory for Muslims in good health and with sufficient funds to make the journey. The length of the obligatory rituals in the hajj covers about 6 days, but what are the core rituals is a matter of definitions, and may be set as low as covering 3 days.

The hajj is the foremost of all Muslim rituals, even if less than 10% of all Muslims ever manage to complete it. In modern times about 2.5 million Muslims fulfill the hajj every year, and this number seems to be fairly close to the recorded maximum. Saudi authorities now regulate the number of pilgrims coming from eachcountry, requiring pilgrims to file requests, many of which are declined.
A person performing, and having performed the hajj, is called "Hajji". Many Hajjis add 'Hajj' or 'Hajji' to their name after returning from Mecca.

The following are not obliged to perform hajj: Those who are mentally ill, slaves, women without travelling companions (like close relative or husband) and people without the necessary funds.

BACKGROUND
The hajj's importance lies in its allowing the believer to approach the assumed center of the world, as well as the place where the
Quran's divine revelations began and continued for about 12 years. Of most importance, however, Islam teaches that the Hajj is one of the oldest true and purest religious rituals (pure in the sense that is performed according to God's will).
Muslim and Western researchers trace the origins of the ritual to Prophet Muhammad's doing it himself after the conquest of Mecca. While it is clear that Muslims commemorate Prophet Muhammad's acts, the exact theological or mythical reason for Muhammad's acts are unclear to modern researchers. But the performer of hajj does not only reenact Muhammad's ritual, he or she also recalls acts of important people in Muslim history. The ritual of
circumambulation or Tawaaf, performed around the Ka'ba reenacts the same rituals when Ibrahim and Isma'il transformed the Ka'ba into the sacred place of worship and peace (Koran 2:119). Following that is a imitation of Hajar running between the hills of Safa and Marwa to procure water for her son.
The rituals above are shared between hajj and the lesser pilgrimage, "Umra". Whether the first part of hajj that commemorates Ibrahim and Hajar should be seen as an Umra, or as an integrated part of hajj, is not clear from theological sources.

RITUALS

Most
Hajjis arrive in Mecca a few days before the hajj proper begins, while some clasp the opportunity to arrive already 3 months ahead, during Ramadan, the month of Fasting or Sawm, considered to be a meritorious deed. While it is recommended that the hajjis should robe themselves in the white costume of Ihram already at performing the very first rituals, the majority do this when they set out for the plain of Arafat. Once the hajji has dressed him or herself in the ihram, they become Mihram, the one that has the holy purity of the ihram. The hajji wearing the ihram may not wash or bathe.
The main hajj begins on 7th Dhu l-Hijja, after the hajjis have performed the umra. This part is still an obligatory part of the hajj, and many of the central rituals to hajj are acted out during the umra.

7. Dhu l-Hijja

This day is spent with praying in the Great Mosque in Mecca. This act is preparing the hajjis for the holy ceremonies.

8. Dhu l-Hijja

The hajjis now leave Mecca. Following the two caskets brought each year from
Damascus and Cairo, the hajjis reach the plain of Arafat, after passing through Mina and Muzdalifa. Many ascend the Rahma Mountain, but in modern times, only a small percentage has the opportunity, actually to complete this. While on the mountain top, the pilgrim chants, the one small phrase, "Labbayka", which may be translated with "At your service."

9. Dhu l-Hijja

This is really a day to be spend out in the open, and the ritual during this day is simply called Wuquf, "standing." Two khutbas fill the entire day.

When the sun sets behind the western hills, the idafa begins. The idafa involves running to Muzdalifa. The two last prayers are performed here, and the night is spent.

10. Dhu l-Hijja

This morning begins with a khutba in Muzdalifa, before the hajjis go to Mina. In Mina different duties await the hajji. 7 stones that have been gathered in Muzdalifa the day before are thrown by each hajji at the 3 jamra, pillars that represent the powers of Satan. At this place, Satan appeared in front of Ibrahim. When the 7 stones have been thrown, the hajj is more or less completed, although there are a few other ceremonies yet to be performed. The chanting of "labbayka" comes to an end around this time.
At this time a sheep or a goat is sacrificed, and while this formally ends the hajj, it introduces the feast of
Id al-Kabir, celebrated all around the Muslim world by all Muslims. Many of the hajjis do not kill the animal themselves, but get professional butchers to do it. Parts of the meat are eaten, but most is taken care of by Saudi authorities, who make sure that nothing is lost, but distributed to the needy.
Many have their heads shaved at this time. The shaving is done while turning towards the
qibla. When this is completed, the ihram taken off, and the holy purity of mihram is lost. At this point, it is custom to return to Mecca, to circumambulate the Ka'ba again. Washing and bathing is also done this day.

11.- 13. Dhu l-Hijja

These last days of the extended hajj are spent in Mina, and are filled with eating, drinking, and for those together with their spouse, sensual pleasure. Every day seven stones are thrown on each of the 3 jamrats. Although it is proper to remain at Mina until the 13, a large number of the hajjis return to Mecca on the 12. A last umra has to be performed. Some days later, people set out for what has become an intrinsic part of the hajj, a visit to
Madina and the tomb of Muhammad.

Sarayah Usman
After returning from Mecca the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) organized a Saryah for Jihad against Rome on 26th of Safar, 11 A.H. in which great companions including Siddiq-e-Akbar, Farooqi-i-Azam and Abu Ubaidah took part. Command was, however, entrusted to Hadrat Usman. This was the last army arranged for dispatch of Saryah by the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) himself.

Fatal Disease
But before the dispatch of this Saryah the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) suffered from fever. On Wednesday, the 28th of Safar, 11A.H., the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) went to the graveyard of Baqi Gharqad at night and prayed for the departed souls, and said: " O the departed ones here in these graves ! I may Allah bless you in your this position and stay in the graves, as perfidies have emerged in the world."
When he came back he had severe headache and again suffered from fever. According to the authentic versions, he suffered from this fever for consecutive thirteen days and passed away in the same condition. During the course of his sickness he used to shift daily from one apartment to the others of his wives, but when the disease because fatal he sought permission from all other wives to stay with Aaiyashah Siddiqah and they all agreed.

Imamate of Siddiq--eAkbar
Due to the severity of the disease when the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) could no more go to the Mosque, Prophet's conveyed his instructions to Siddiq-e-Akbar to lead the prayers. Hadrat Siddiq-e-Akbar led about seventy prayers. One day siddiq-e-Akbar and Hadrat Abbas happened to pass by a meeting of Ansaar who were weeping. They asked the cause of it, and the reply was that all of them were remembering their company with the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) which they were now deprived of Hadrat Abbas gave this news to the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) also, who managed to come out by the support of the shoulders of Hadrat Ali and Hadrat Fazal. Hadrat Abbas was walking ahead of them. The Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) tried to climb the pulpit, but the set on the lower step being unable to rise further. Then the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) delivered on eloquent sermon, which in sum was as follows.

Last sermon of the last Prophet  (peace be upon him)
" O people ! I have come to know that you are afraid that the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) shall die. Did any prophet before live for ever? How can I? Yes, I am going to meet my Lord, and you shall also meet me. Ay, your meeting place is the cistern of Kauthar ( Hoz-i-kausar). So whosoever desires to saturate himself from that cistern he should restrain himself from unnecessary and vulgar things. I exhort you to unity and good treatment towards Muhajireen."

And the said :

" When people obey Almighty Allah, their superiors and rulers do justice to them. And when they disobey Almighty Allah their superiors and rulers become cruel to them."

Thereafter  the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) went back to his apartment, and 3 or 5 days before his demise, the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) once again come out when Siddiq-e-Akbar was leading the prayers, who tried to get back but the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) prevented him from doing go and himself sat by the left side of Siddiq-e-Akbar, after prayers the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) said:

" Abu Bakar (Siddiq-e-Akbar) my best benefactor, if I had made anyone my Khaleel (fast friend) except Allah, I would have preferred Abu Bakr. Since there is no Khaleel except Allah, I regard Abu Bakr as my brother and friend, Allah the doors of the people opening in the mosque my be closed except that of Abu Bakr."

On Monday the 2nd Rabiul Awwal people were saying their morning prayers behind Hadrat Siddiq-e-Akabr when abruptly the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) removed the certain and looked at the people and smiled. Siddiq-e-Akabr, knowing about it, tried to get back and the Sahabah also left  a little bit disturbed in their prayers because of the pleasure they received by Prophet's gesture.

The Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) pointed with his hand to completed their prayers. and after dropping the curtain Prophet went in. After that Prophet never came out and the same day be expired and met his exalted Friend." We all belong to Allah and to Him shall we return."

The Holy Prophet's (peace be upon him) age at that time was sixty-three.

Prophet's last Words
Hadrat Aiyshah says: During this sickness the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) off and uncovered his face and said that Almighty Allah cursed the Jews and Christians because they had turned the graves of their Prophets into worship-houses. The object was to warm the Muslims against this abominable practice.

Alas ! The very thing against which the Prophet of Allah (peace be upon him) warned the Muslims, they did no discard it even today. They have also turned the graves of the holy and pious man as worship houses. ( We seek Allah's refuge from it !) Hadrat Aiyshah also said, just before his demise the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) looked towards the ceiling and said repeatedly.

"O Allah ! K like the greated companion !."   According to some other versions he repeated: "Ass sallat assalalt ( the prayer, the prayer)."

when the said news of the Holy Prophet's (peace be upon him) demise spread among the Sahabah they were all benumbed. The honourable Sahabah. like Farooq-i-Azam (Umer) were so much shocked that they even denied the demise of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him). At that critical juncture Siddiq-e-Akabr came forward and in brief sermon he said:  " Whosoever was worshipping Muhammad (peace be upon him) he should listen that he (peace be upon him) has died. And whosoever was worshipping Almighty Allah he should know that He is the Alive. the Eternal." After hearing it, all the Sahabah controlled themselves. In this wise manner Siddiq-e-Akabr exhorted them to patience.

In view of the apprehended turmoil in the spiritual and secular affairs and the possible raids by the internal and external enemies. appointment of a caliph after the the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) was given top priority and considered essential before the formal burial ceremonies. Settlement of the disputed issue become late and the burial ceremony was delayed because of it. Therefore, instead of Monday, Hadrat Ali and Hadrat Abbas gave bath the Holy Prophet's (peace be upon him) body and covered to with the shroud on Wednesday at night, and the Salat-ul-Janazah was offered. According to a hadith, the grave for the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) was prepared in the apartment of Hadrat Aiyshah Siddiqa, where he breathed his last. The Holy Prophet's (peace be upon him) grave was kept up to the height of the blisht (the height from little finger to the thumb in extended from).

After this brief description of the Holy Prophet's (peace be upon him) life history it is deemed proper that a brief account of his noble conduct may also be presented. may most gracious Allah grant us all the strength of acting upon it.
And this is not difficult for Allah
